I was at the Official Animal Rights March in San Diego yesterday, and it was amazing!!! It was an honor and blessing to be there, marching in unity with so many passionate vegan / AR activists and being a part of this important movement. Not only did this experience restore my faith in humanity, but it inspired me to do more… more than just make videos and blog posts, but to get more active in real life, in this huge fight for the animals!
Some of the highlights for me were:
- When we connected with a few onlookers who appreciated our message and yelled “thank you!” from the sidelines.
- When we sang some beautiful songs for the animals, it’s hard to put this into words, but it was moving!
- There was a “die in” where we all laid down in the middle of the street and someone gave a powerful speech… all of this was in the Gaslamp quarter of downtown San Diego, in front of restaurants and sidewalk cafes, with nonvegans watching!
Here are a few pics from yesterday. I might add some video clips later! (Disclaimer: I did not take all of these pics, only a few of them, so I hope there’s not a problem in grabbing some online, I figured the important thing is getting this message out there.)
I look forward to doing more activism, including a different type of AR activism, one from a Christian perspective, because I want to reach both meat-eating Christians and non-Christian vegans. This is just the beginning!!!
